A Model Program

The Reality Tour began in Butler County, PA in 2003. The consequence-driven program was extremely successful and prompted the founding of CANDLE, Inc., the 501c3 non-profit that oversees the program. In 2004 demand grew for the replication of Butler's grassroots effort and the Model Program was developed. Currently, CANDLE, Inc. directly operates four Reality Tour sites and the Model Program has been adopted by over 15 organizations. 25% of PA counties have the Model Program.

This success has warranted an indepth evaluation of the theory and outcomes of the presentation. CANDLE, Inc. is dedicated to ongoing research and is currently working with NECAPT and IRETA through a Service to Science Award on our pending NREPP review.

While the Reality Tour invloves the use of dramatic scenes, they represent just 30 min. of a 2 1/2 hour comprehensive experience that uses existing community resources and occurs on a regularly scheduled basis. Tours are held monthly at many sites.
